Localized Hyperthermia

In order to destroy cancer cells and shrink tumours, Hyperthermia therapy uses heat, and this can harm or kill cancer cells by damaging proteins and structures within the cells. Local hyperthermia (sometimes called superficial hyperthermia) exposes a small area, such as a tumour, to high temperatures. Very high temperatures are used to kill the cancer cells and destroy nearby blood vessels. It is used to address cases of primary and recurring secondary tumour regardless of tumour stage.
